History

How Sacramento got here

Founded in 1849 at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers, the city was the western terminus of the Pony Express and the Transcontinental Railroad. Its grid was laid out by Captain John Sutter, and many original Victorian and Craftsman homes remain in Land Park, East Sac, and Curtis Park.
Lifestyle

Living in Sacramento

Farm-to-fork capital, river trails, midtown art walks, and a booming food and craft beverage scene. Bike everywhere on the American River Parkway, Sundays at the Sunday Farmers Market under the freeway, evenings at concerts in the park.
